Where you can find Pike-perch
On this map you see where there were observations of Pike-perch around the world, to give you an idea in which continents, countries and waters you can find this fish species.
Also referred to as 'zander' or 'glass eye', the pike-perch is a predatory fish that primarily hunts during the morning hours. It prefers smaller baitfish to his bigger cousin the pike.
Pike-perch can be found on big rivers and lakes. In the warmer months when they're more actively hunting, any place where there's disruption in the current you have a chance of catching them. During the colder months, pike-perch will be holding up much deeper. At this time it's harder to catch them as they're less actively feeding, you'll also need a good sinking line (and often need to fish from a belly boat) in order to reach them."
