Sixteen lakes from large to small, but rivers as well

The Lake District, located in the northwest region of England, is a stunning area known for its beautiful lakes, mountains, and rich history. It is also a popular destination for fly fishing enthusiasts, who come from all over the world to experience the world-class fishing opportunities that the region has to offer.

A small bit of history
Fly fishing has a long and storied history in the Lake District, dating back to the 19th century. The region is home to a number of iconic trout and salmon rivers, including the River Derwent, the River Eden, and the River Eamont, all of which are renowned for their excellent fly fishing. In the late 1800s, the Lake District became a popular destination for Victorian anglers, who came to experience the challenging and rewarding fishing opportunities that the region had to offer.

Not just lakes
Contrary to what its name might suggest, you can find 3 types of water here: large lakes, small lakes and lots of rivers as well. There is a total of 16 lakes, the largest one being lake Windermere and the smallest is lake Brotherswater. Some of the major rivers are the Ehen, Calder, Irt, Mite, Esk and Annas.

Species
The Lake District is home to a variety of fish species, including brown trout, rainbow trout, and Atlantic salmon. But you'll also find perch, pike, roach and grayling. It's a good idea to think about what species you want to target, as that will help you narrow down which water to go to, where to stay and map out your trip.

To conclude
The Lake District is a paradise for fly fishing enthusiasts, offering a wide range of challenging and rewarding fishing opportunities due to the variety in waters. So why wait? Pack your gear and head to the Lake District for an unforgettable fly fishing adventure!

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
