France 🇫🇷 La Loue River
A beautiful river with many different spots to fish
The La Loue river, a picturesque water body located in eastern France, is a revered spot amongst fly fishing enthusiasts. Known for its tranquil atmosphere and rich aquatic life, this river is a treasure trove for those seeking a serene environment.
Trout and grayling
The most prominent features of the La Loue are its trouts and graylings, locally known as 'ombres'. These species have thrived in the river's ecosystems and are a prime attraction for anglers. The trouts, in particular, are impressive in size, often reaching lengths between 30 to 50 centimeters, making them an exciting catch for any fisherman.
Two types of regional flies are particularly popular amongst the local fishers: the Ornans fly and the Peute. These flies mimic local insects, making them an efficient lure for the river's aquatic species, primarily trouts and graylings.
Fly fishing at the La Loue river offers a unique experience, combining the serenity of the natural environment with the thrill of sight fishing for large trouts and graylings.
