Austria 🇦🇹 Zemmbach (Finkenberg)
An 18 km flowing river located among beautiful mountains at the end of the Zillertal at an altitude between 800-1800 meters. The water is fed from the mountains and at the end / beginning is the beautiful reservoir Schlegeisspeicher.
The water has nice calm stretches where one can get away perfectly with the dry fly. Small pools that are full of trout. But there are also stretches for those who like a challenge. Climbing over rocks, fast currents where you can have fun with Czech Nymphing.
It is possible to fish the reservoir with a bellyboat with float-plus motor. These can be rented at Zum Schneider. Please book in advance. The daily permits cost €35.
There is a one-time €25 fee for the Tirolerfischerei. This is valid for two weeks and is needed if you want to buy a day ticket anywhere in Tyrol.
Hiring a guide for a day on this water is highly recommended especially when anglers come for several days of fishing.
