Foam Beetle
A dry fly that's relatively easy to tie, clearly visible to both angler and fish, imitating a beetle that fell in the water.
How it's tied
The Foam Beetle is tied using a short shank hook and a combination of materials to create a high-floating, visible profile. The body is formed from layers of foam, typically in black or other dark colors, which are cut to shape and then securely attached to the hook shank. Rubber or silicone legs are added on each side of the body, giving the fly lifelike movement and further enhancing its appeal. A bright-colored indicator, usually made from foam or yarn, can be added to the top of the beetle for increased visibility if the body was made from a dark color.
